Apprenticeship is a one year program, designed specifically to be a bridge toward a career in ministry for those wanting to build on the training or experience they possess. It is a hands-on opportunity to “test-drive” a call to youth ministry in a mentored and real time environment. The apprentice year offers a combination of skill development, self-leadership, theological foundations and partner development. These take place in the context of a local ministry area, and alongside the supervision of qualified, veteran youth workers. Our goal is to provide training, (8 hours per week) and experience, (32 hours) that will allow individuals to move towards becoming effective “urban missionaries”, while stepping into the lives of marginalized youth in local communities.
