Keagan Leighton

Youth Missionary - Creative Life

Majoring in psychology at UBC, Keagan ended up diving into a lot of social psychology, as well as developmental psychology classes. In addition, to academia, Keagan was drawn to volunteering in his church as a youth leader to strengthen his abilities in leadership and mentoring roles. After graduating, he spent time volunteering as

a crisis service responder, which, while challenging, was incredibly rewarding.

As a youth missionary with Creative Life, Keagan is focused on building lasting relationships with marginalized youth who attend creative workshops. He is excited and honoured to come alongside the youth as they explore their creative side and hopefully find some common ground to build a relationship beyond just art. He looks forward to providing an example of what it means to follow Christ and reflect His love for the youth through these workshops. Keagan grew up with many great mentors who poured into his life and helped guide him toward Christ. This community and his outstanding community of friends showed him how valuable community is to a young person’s life, and he looks forward to seeing how God moves him to be a mentor in this next chapter.

Fun fact: Based on his love for Mumford and Sons, Keagan attempted to learn the banjo as a teenager! Ask Keagan for all your new music needs.
