Krista Wilson

Counsellor, Young Families Program

While working at the Children’s Aid Society in Burlington, Ontario, Krista saw the destitute situations the children and mothers were in and wanted to make a difference in the lives those young moms. It was in Krista’s role as Young Moms Coordinator at The Dam in Ontario where  she realized that she wanted to broaden her abilities and skills to be able to help women at a deeper level, so she decided to take her Masters in BC.

Now on the West Coast with the YU Young Families program, Krista counsels young women through life struggles, helping them to thrive in their roles as mothers. She believes that relationship is at the foundation of who we are and what we need, that deep connections are the way we can share the love of Jesus and who is. And that’s what Krista is after in all her conversations- life change through caring and loving relationships.

Krista has 3 children and a husband that works as an RCMP officer. She loves family- her own little family, her extended family, and her adopted BC family. Krista and her clan spend almost all of their vacations visiting or meeting up with extended family from Ontario. Krista is a knitter, a photographer, a pianist and a proud Coffee snob! Find her in coffee shop investing in relationship and expensive lattes!
