Steve Roukema

Assitant Director, Lifeteams Program
Steve’s role as Assistant Director of Lifeteams allows him to be part of an amazing team that engages young adults to be missionaries with vulnerable youth. Lifeteams is a training school that teaches skill, character, and life development for young adults that desire to impact the life of a vulnerable youth and be transformed themselves in the process.

Though Lifeteams trains Young Adults, their focus is to the 80 percent of teens who are outside of the church. For over 10 years Steve was a Youth Pastor in BC and always had a desire to reach those who were not part of a church and provide a place for them to develop healthy relationships. As Assistant Director of Lifeteams, Steve is able to evangelize to the youth that have been on his heart for many years and connect them to the church. Through the equipping, teaching, mentoring, and work placements through Lifeteams, he has the opportunity to multiply what God has created in him to reach many more youth and families for the sake of a relationship with Jesus.

After a year of training to be a missionary in Mexico with his family of 7, God called them back to Canada in the Spring of 2019. Since September 3rd, 2019, he has had the privilege of being part of Lifeteams as the Assistant Director (I hope that sentence was read with excitement). He is in the process of getting more familiar with Lifeteams DNA, sharing a few laughs, building his partnership team, and learning his role from Lifeteams staff and the Youth Unlimited team.

Steve has a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Work with Columbia Bible College and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies with ACTS Seminary. His passion for youth ministry, mission work, and leadership development have all come together to prepare him for some amazing ministry with Lifeteams!
