Katie Wiebe

Youth Worker

Katie Jarmer was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She fell in love with Vancouver when she moved to the area to attend Lifeteams: School of Youth Outreach after attending Bodenseehof Bible School in Germany. It was there at bible school that she fell in love with working with youth and wanted to pursue this passion further. She started the Lifeteams program and learned about meeting youth where they are at, loving people because Christ first loved us, and how to build connections with youth through relationships. During the program, she had an internship opportunity in North Vancouver that has now led her to become a part of the North Shore.

Katie is starting her second year on staff, and as of September 2021 will have been with the  Vancouver Youth Unlimited team for four years. Katie loves relationships and connection. She loves combining that with coffee and a rainy afternoon at JJ Bean. Katie has a welcoming presence and youth feel safe talking with her. She is a thoughtful listener and, after meeting and mentoring youth, they leave feeling heard and cared for. Katie loves sharing about the way Jesus has impacted her life – chances are as you get to know her, she can’t help but share about how God is at work in her life.
