Why Jules Gibson is Sleeping Outside

I am sleeping outside because I believe that Jesus Christ has called us to radical, sacrificial love. It says in 1 John 3:18: "Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." This is ONE NIGHT from my year where CHOOSE to sacrifice a warm bed of my own, sheltered from the elements and from others, while many other youth and young adults face this as a daily reality, and they face it alone. By sleeping outside, we are aiming to spread awareness to youth homelessness, and raise money to care for those that need it most. This is now my third year doing YUnite, and I can't wait to have the best worst sleep of my life (again)!
