Why North Van Dessert Club is Sleeping Outside
Our team met through Youth Unlimited North Shore's Mobile Youth Drop-In, and we're sleeping outside in support of vulnerable young people in North Vancouver.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) data points to the powerful impact of even one caring adult in the life of a young person.
We advocate for youth struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness, unsafe homes, addiction, eating disorders, abuse, neglect, sexual exploitation, bullying, suicidal thoughts, rejection, and hopelessness.
We realize this is only a faint simulation of what it is actually like to have to sleep on the street—we are humbled to make this small gesture of support for eight hours.
