Why Vancouver Outreach is Sleeping Outside

The Vancouver Outreach team is sleeping outside for one night, so homeless and vulnerable youth can have a lifetime of safety and support. So many of the youth we work with have high-risk factors for homelessness, addiction, gang recruitment, sexual exploitation and extreme poverty. However, we know that early intervention is life-changing. Youth Unlimited’s loving and practical support can massively decrease those risks and help change the trajectory of a youth’s life. Vancouver Outreach exists to create safe spaces of belonging for young people. We do this through relationships, sharing meals together, going outside, and providing opportunities for young people to flourish in all areas of their life. Our weekly programs and moments of connection consist of Hub Drop-In’s, Friday Program, Hiking Club, school support, and countless 1:1 youth meetings. We are committed to showing up and being a consistent presence of love and care in their life.
