Kathlyn Jarvis

Youth Worker

Kathlyn’s quote to live by is “be the person you needed when you were younger.” She is driven by that sentiment every day, and has invested much of her adult life into making it a reality.

After graduating high school, Kathlyn became a youth mentor in the youth group she once attended, while also coaching volleyball and attending University. During her time as a youth mentor, she felt drawn to invest in her education to continue discipling young people in faith. This sparked her adventure across the water to Capernwray Bible School in England, where her relationship with Christ grew. When she arrived back home to Canada, Kathlyn was rehired at her past youth group, fulfilling the role of interim youth pastor while also studying youth work at Columbia Bible College.

Now on staff with Youth Unlimited, Kathlyn’s position is a new one that is being established. She will be working in partnership with a local church in the East Abbotsford area where she will be their Youth Pastor, while also working in the schools in the East Abbotsford area. Kathlyn is excited to see the Church and community come together through their ministry in East Abbotsford!

Something to note about Kathlyn… yellow is her favourite colour! She calls it ‘happy yellow’ and will share this joy for yellow with others. She’s passionate about volleyball and loves connecting with youth through coaching, which is what helped her to see how much she enjoys working with youth.

When she’s not pouring her time and energy into discipling youth, she loves getting out and about. “I have joked with my youth that I am like a dog,” Kathlyn says. “I like car rides and going for walks!”
