In 1994, Sharon saw the difference that God was making in the lives of young people at a youth conference. It was then that she knew she wanted to be a part of that difference and she’s been with YU ever since! Now married to Dave (also a YU staff member) Sharon has three teens of her own: Riley, Rahul and Macey.
Since studying youth work and counselling at Briercrest Bible College, this prairie girl has been putting her education to work by equipping leaders to effectively disciple youth. Whether coaching, tutoring, leading weekly clubs, drop-in centers, Bible Study groups, trips, camps, outdoor pursuits, ‘Girls Night Outs’ or one-on-one mentoring, Sharon’s heart for the youth continues to drive her to serve.
Currently Sharon is the Artistic Director at Jesters Theatre—a safe place for kids who love theatre. She has seen first-hand how theatre develops self-confidence, promotes spontaneity and sparks the imagination—all of which help build meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.
Together we can transform the world our youth live in—but we can’t do it without you.Take Action
