Tombert first started as a volunteer with Youth Unlimited for two years before he decided to leave his former job and follow God’s call to work with youth full time. Now he spends his time in a Richmond public school where he gets to serve and love staff. Coming to Christ through sports outreach at his current church made an impact for Tombert. He strongly believes that food, fun and fellowship leads people to Christ and is dedicated to taking this model to the youth he works with. Building relationship with them and providing fun opportunities to create deeper community.
Seeing God at work with the youth is an inspiration to him, in his words, “Watching my kids grow, and hearing what God has to say and what he is doing around me.’ And that is why he is where he is today. God brought me to Him and allows me to serve people who do not know him. In his free time, Tombert enjoys camping, hiking, gardening, throwing sharp objects, and playing badminton with his wife Joyce and their three boys, Evan, Elijah and Luke.
Together we can transform the world our youth live in—but we can’t do it without you.
