A Larger Perspective

In the formative years of young people, adventure and outdoor excursions play a big role in developing life skills, a larger perspective, an appreciation for the outdoors, and deep lifelong bonds. For youth whose parents don’t have the means, time, experience or healthy interest in their child, they can often get left behind their peers, adding to a load of other challenges.

Thanks to our generous partners, at Youth Unlimited there are a bunch of ways for kids to get out of town — and outside their comfort zones! For decades, summer camps and spring break adventures have been cornerstone YU experiences leading to real and lasting transformation. YU youth have been everywhere from New York to Mexico, California to Rwanda. Come on and join the Elevation Project to get involved in our partnership with YFC Rwanda.

Events are also an important resource we can provide to youth. One-time or on-going events provide access to experiences that many of our kids aren’t getting, but they also provide an opportunity for mentorship with staff and volunteers and a safe place to socialize with peers from all walks of life. Whether it’s a sporting outing to the Vancouver Giants or Whitecaps, or a worship time at Chapel event, events play an important role in the growth of youth.
