Alvina’s journey into youth work stems from her roots in Selkirk, MB, where she navigated the complexities of identity as an urban Indigenous youth in a low-income household. Youth For Christ Selkirk was a place that she went to at the age of 10, as a vulnerable youth and found a safe and nurturing environment that became pivotal in her life. As a young teen growing up in Vancouver, Amanda used to dream of seeing revival happen amongst her friends and in the streets of Vancouver.
